A Spring of Nature

Flow Drive
Within this picture you can see the elegant flow of nature and pavement.. This picture was taking in Ft. Lauder dale, Florida near the coastline. A healthy drive down the street where the sky envelopes around a pinch of nature as if it was the very first time being reunited. Yes,the sky floats around high above enveloping most the picture but you can't help but notice this tall tree stretching out its branches and leaves just to touch the sky. It has a very cool, serene vibe that could mellow out even the most disturbed of souls. The blacken edges where it gives more focus onto the tree and sky itself. The Sky would be considered the negative space while the tree itself, being the object, pulls focus. You can see many of the lines in this picture is horizontal and flows in one direction. This picture is very organic instead of being geometric. The Green really compliments the other characteristics of the picture seeing how it's a secondary color, a very cool color to balance out the other very warm, light colors. It would give a real feeling since it is an actual photograph of something organic and not implied. It's a 2D picture where you'll only be able to look at it other than being able to walk around it, through it, or physically touch edges, peaks, or anything that pops out. There is a lot of space within the background. It has long rectangular, triangular, and swirl shapes.

Are You Ready?
This picture was taking near the Herbert Von King Community Park on Lafayette Avenue between Marcy Avenue and Nostrand Avenue. This tree is located within the Hattie Carthan Garden. This picture is one of my favorites because it is a beautified sign that either Spring or Summer is on it's way. It has a both light and dark colors. You can see primary, secondary colors and even tertiary colors complimenting each other both well and not so well. the object that catches your eye almost instantly would be the oh-so-blooming tree you see before you. The negative space would be considered the sky and the positive being the tree itself. You can see a glorious beam of light cascading over the top of the tree as if blanketing it in its warmth. The tree is so unmanageable, free, fluent and free it seems untamed.   With that being said the building could be seen as the shadow of the tree as if hiding behind it as a strong symbol of structure organization and order. You can notice many lines within this structure like the windows or the gate concealing the tree at its trunk or the building itself. I love the way the white has more depth when it reaches the top of the photo. I didn't add a filter to this picture because I loved the organic look of this picture and the way it flows well in the picture. This picture has no pattern or a 3D visual effect because it's 2D and it has a more unique flow to it, unless you consider the flow a pattern than yes it has a pattern.

  1. Very good examples Aaron and good observation of the visual elements. Do the repeated shapes of the window in the second picture make a pattern?

  2. Now that I see It. It does. I didn't notice the windows above because most of my focus was pulled more towards the tree. Yes I see a pattern with the windows in the building to the right. :)
