Hw assignment 2

Don't Burst My Bubble!

The accidental art form or medium I chose is a  2D digital photograph of my husbands little sister Hailey. The context of this photo was taken by me in my mothers backyard over the weekend, of course while blowing bubbles. This photograph captures many visual elements. While observing this photo it is very clear that the hues reflected are secondary colors and also creates a pattern of these colors, orange, violet, green. I'm not so sure if bubbles reflect the colors around them but in assuming so these hues are also in her little cute outfit as well as my mothers plant pot. This photo also captures the main focus being that the bubble is so large taking up positive space. It creates an illusion of a huge bubble when in reality its actually a small bubble closer to the camera lens. I would say there is a combination of geometric and organic shapes in this photo. The bubbles would be considered geometric while everything else is in organic shapes. The perception of the bubble gives off a smooth texture, just by looking at it you can tell its something very thin and fragile. The line form found in the background of the fence gives a diagonal direction as well as the bubble floating more to a upper right diagonal implying its direction. Not to toot my own horn but I am quite amazed with the outcome of this perfect shot and how it fits perfectly with "accidental art".

The title I chose is a quote I happened to stumble upon "accidentally" that fits perfectly with the content of this photograph. The context of this 2D digital photograph was taken by me in one of my favorite locations in Fort Tyron park, located in uptown New York. There are so many visual elements to this photo that it's hard to miss or leave anything out. The shapes in this photo are geometrics shapes. Continuous shapes of rectangles that also creates a pattern of the use of bricks and how they are placed stacked together. As you can tell there are many line directions to this passage way. Many are horizontal, diagonal, vertical & also curvy lines. There are many variations of the grayish hue found in this photograph, which makes the hues monochromatic.  The perception of the texture can be described as rough and course found in the stones. The focus of this piece is the patterns of archways that leads to the other side also showing the value of real light. The variations of lights and darks and the shadows given from the light. The majority of the space used is positive space. There is a use of complimentary colors found between the red brick road and the greenery from the trees.
