The Women' Power
The place where I want my show to
take place is going to be in the second floor of the B building. The reason why
I chose this place is because it is a place where many students find very
boring. It is due to the fact that there is no much painting. I am thinking
about placing my show there because there are a lot of student who has to pass
for that floor in order to attend to class, and if they are used to see nothing
in there at the time that I place my show there I will attract their attention.
And they will take their time to appreciate the art that is going to be placed
there. In that way students can forget for a moment about the stress that some
class cause. That can be the time and the place for them to relax a little be
before or after class. In other words it is the perfect place for this show
students, teachers, and all the people who work at the school can be the
perfect audience. The theme for this art show is going to be “The women’ Power”
I chose this theme because all the painting that is going to take place in the
show are about women. The paintings that I picked are from five different
Honduran artist. I am doing this show about Honduran artist because I want
everyone to realize that there are a lot of artists around the word and that
someday they have the possibility of being as famous and recognized as Davincci
or Picaso.
As a curator, I decided to pick pieces from artists such as Cesar Ordonez,
Marco Rietti, Jose Jorge Amador, Ziad Suliman Lopez and Pablo Zellaya Cierra. I
picked them because they all five have many things in common such as that they
all are Honduran, all of them are passionate for the art and all of them had
painted women in more than one painting. That why I am calling this show “ The
Woman Power.” Most of the artist around the world has a painting of a woman in
their collection, that’s why I think that women play an important role in
society. The First painting is a 2D painting in which we see a woman as a focal
point. We can infer that the artist chose this woman because she is very beautiful
and she is Chinese by the way. This painting was painted by Cesar Ordones a
painter who actually lives in china. The second painting is called “El Angel de
la Eterna entrega,” it is an inspiration of Marco Rietty. What we can appreciate
in this painting that the color white is the most outstanding color because the
artist used it in the floor in the in the pigeon and in the women skirt and the
focal point of this painting is the women as well. The difference between the
first and the second painting is that in the first painting we can see the
woman smiling and in the second the woman is kind of sad. We can also argue
that they are different types of women in the first painting we see a normal
woman in a river and in the second one we see a woman with wings like an angel.
Even thong both of them are women they are different. The third drawing is
called “El Valet de la Selva Humeda,” by Jose Jorge Amador. In this painting we
can appreciate that the artist used primary and secondary color. We can see two
women sitting on the ground, both of them are vale dancers, the color green is
very predominant they are in a jungle where are birds, trees etc,. In this
painting there are repetition and scale we can compare this painting with the
first one because both of them have repetition and scale. The fourth one is called
“Las Lavanderas,” by Ziad Sulliman Lopez. In this art work we can see that
there are three women. This painting seems to be an abstract because we cannot
see well defined the things. We know that they are in a river washing their
clothes but we cannot see very well their faces. And finally the last one is
called “Las Monjas” by Pablo Zellaya Sierra. In this art work there are two nuns
that are in a music room reading something. We can comopare this painting with
the third one because both artist used two woman as a focal point and both of
them are dressed equal.
By appreciating
these art works we can infer that these artist are inspired by living things
such as animals and persons, and each of them has its own way of painting. They
did a really good job, each painting has something different which means that
each artist has his own style, because as we can see all of them drew women but in different facets . Furthermore by
putting these five art works together we can see that each artist is inspired
by women at some point of their lives. That’s why I called this Show “The Women’
Power.”
Hilda- this is so great and I appreciate how you researched and shared with us the work of these Honduran artists! Thank you! This would make for a wonderful show at our school- especially in the B bldg that you picked!
