This piece of artwork is named Philip IV, King of Spain. This artwork is an etching by the artist Velasquez and it was created in 1778. The etching is a part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's online collection. There are many different shades in the etching. The background scenery is lighter shade than the horse and the clothing of King Philip. The ground and the sky are the too lightest shades in this etching. The horse and King Philip are both representational parts of this etching. You can clearly see in detail the horse and King Philip especially his outfit. The mountains in the background are a lighter shade than King Philip and the horse but is a darker shade than the ground and the sky. The artist put great detail into this sketching especially with the horse and King Philip. You can can see the ridges in his clothing and with the horse you can see the strands of hair in its tail and forelock.
